Chelsie Hightower Biography (1989-)

Chelsie is partnered with Romeo Miller the rapper and actor formerly known as “Lil Romeo.” In season 11 of ABC’S “Dancing With the Stars,” Chelsie danced with singer Michael Bolton. They were the second couple to be kicked off the show. and her partner for season 10  Jake Pavelka finished 7th.  Jake is the handsome commercial pilot and most recent bachelor on ABC’s “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love.” She was partnered with Olympic snowboarder, Louie Vito for Season 9 and they finished in 8th place. Ty Murray, 7 time All Around World Rodeo Champion, was her partner for season 8 and they finished 4th. Chelsie and Ty are featured in the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. “I was so thrilled to be part of such an iconic magazine. What a thrill to join the list of superb athletes and supermodels that have been featured over the years,” states Chelsie.

She was a fan favorite on FOX TV’S “So You Think You Can Dance,” prior to joining the cast of “Dancing with the Stars.” Dancing is a major part of Chelsie’s life and she continues to study all styles of dance with her specialty being Ballroom. “In my chosen field there is always something to learn and I study my craft constantly…striving to improve.” She has trained with current and former world champions including: “Dancing with the Stars”: Corky Ballas, Katrina Sminoff and Louis VanAmstel.

Born in Las Vegas and raised in Orem, Utah, Chelsie has five older brothers and started dancing when she was 9 years old in an after school program. She won her first national title when she was just 11 years old. In 2005, she was asked to be one of the four couples in the country to be on Team USA, in the most prestigious dance competition in the world, held in Blackpool, England. She represented USA in Latin Style, where Team USA took 3rd place behind Ukraine and Russia. That same year she had the opportunity to be one of the two couples to represent the United States at the Worlds for the Standard style of ballroom held in Lavita.

She spent the summer of 2006, teaching in North Carolina to pay for her training in New York on the weekends. She has been teaching at Center Stage in Utah, and has also taught abroad helping many students win national titles.
