Born on August 21, 1979, in Holmby Hills, California, Alana Kimberly Stewart grew up quite comfortably as the daughter of rock icon Rod Stewart and model Alana Collins. Though he was constantly on the road, father Rod had a positive influence on Kimberly, telling her that she must discover her own calling and not just live off the extensive family fortune.
As such, Kimberly headed toward the one domain she — like her mother before her — had always felt drawn to: modeling. As a teenager, she attended a modeling school and looked to enter the fashion world upon graduation. At 18 years old, Kimberly succumbed to the pressures of being immersed in modeling and went under the knife, receiving breast implants.
The up-and-coming model first emerged as a Tommy Hilfiger girl, then continued to receive work for such names as Richard Tyler, Catherine Malandrino and House of Field. During these initial years as a model, Stewart rekindled a childhood friendship with rich heiress Paris Hilton and they began attending the kind of celebrity parties that you read about in tabloid magazines.
Four years after receiving her breast augmentation, Stewart took a step back toward the ‘au naturel’ look and had the silicone removed. She then reportedly sent the fake breasts to friend and one-time beau Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy Osbourne. Antics such as this, and her closeness with Hilton, began netting Stewart plenty of face-time in all sorts of celebrity magazines.
Slowly but steadily, Stewart became a socialite celebrity in her own right, partly due to her number of high-profile boyfriends. These included Scott Caan, son of actor James Caan, as well as musician Cisco Adler, to whom she was briefly engaged. Stewart only got more attention after admitting to having eyes for Brad Pitt, and then allegedly hooking up with Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin, who had previously dated Kimberly’s step-mother, Rachel Hunter.
In 2005, a falling out between Paris Hilton and longtime friend Nicole Richie paved the way for Kimberly Stewart’s television career. After Hilton and Richie completed three seasons of The Simple Life reality show, it was reported that the two would not be together for a fourth season.
Instead, Hilton nominated her friend Stewart to fill the roll, and unconfirmed reports detail that this is indeed what will happen. Either way, thanks to a modeling career that is reportedly getting busy once again and a rollercoaster love life, Kimberly should be in the headlines for some time.
